"What your experiencing skiing after a stroke?" Personally, I couldn't ski pre- stroke but at least it'd be a soft landing if I fell:)

What an unusual question to ask,Em.I,ve been asking people that question for about three or so years but never finding anybody who would or could answer it.

The answer is "why not give it a go" so I did.

Got onto the Disabled Wintersports Assoc.and organised to meet them at Perisher Valley in the NSW Ski Fields.They organised a Disabled Qualified Ski Instructor for me and out we went,full of....EXCITEMENT!!!!!
Actually it was more like TERROR. I had skiied quite a bit in the last 20 yrs or so and thought I,d have a chance of maybe staying upright.Wrong! I was on the deck more than I was upright...but it was great.

I found it to be a great test to not only see how far I,d come but how far I,ve still got to go.But having a bit of fun!!!! along the way makes it more managable.This year I,m going to try Snow Shoeing & Cross Country skiing.Bring on the snow.
