This quick guide presents the key recommendations for stroke and TIA management for general practitioners taken from national acute and post acute guidelines endorsed by the NHMRC. Recommendations are graded along with the NHMRC levels of evidence.

This document aims to provide GPs with a summary of relevant clinical guidelines for the management of stroke and TIA from two national guidelines approved by the National Health and Medical Council (NHMRC): the Clinical Guidelines for Acute Stroke Management1 and the Clinical Guidelines for Stroke Rehabilitation and Recovery.
