Implementing the Clinical Guidelines for Stroke Management – a guide to changing practice for stroke clinicians

The Clinical Guidelines for Stroke Management were published by the National Stroke Foundation (NSF) in September 2010. The literature tells us that reviewing the evidence and developing evidence based recommendations for stroke care are only the first steps to ensuring that evidence-based care is available; dissemination and implementation of the guidelines are equally important.

The NSF strongly recommends a systematic approach to identifying gaps in service delivery (via audit and feedback), understanding local barriers or enablers to reducing those gaps and developing a clear action plan to improve stroke services.

This resource is designed to provide clinicians with an overview of the process to effect change an improve patient care in your clinical setting. There are seven steps that can be tailored to your local situation.
